The Story of the Hidden Garden
Once, there was a traveller who found themselves wandering through a dense, shadowy forest. The trees were tall and tangled, their branches stretching high into the sky, blocking out much of the sunlight. The forest wasn’t unkind, but it felt heavy, filled with whispers of worries and doubts that clung to the air like mist.
The traveller had been walking this path for a long time. They weren’t entirely sure how they had arrived here, but they knew they couldn’t stay. The whispers were too loud, the weight too great. And so, they paused, closed their eyes, took a deep breath, and allowed their body to relax.
As they stood still, something remarkable happened. A faint, golden light began to shimmer in the distance. It wasn’t bright or blinding—just a soft, warm glow that seemed to call to them. Drawn by an unexplainable sense of comfort, the traveller began to follow it.
With each step, the forest seemed to lighten. The ground beneath their feet became softer, the air clearer. They felt as though they were descending, step by step, into a place that was deeply familiar and safe, even though they had never been there before.
At last, the traveller came upon a door—simple, sturdy, and adorned with intricate carvings. Somehow, they knew this door had been waiting for them. Without hesitation, they reached out, turned the handle, and stepped through.
Beyond the door was a garden unlike any they had ever seen. It stretched endlessly, vibrant and alive, filled with colours and scents that stirred something deep within. It felt as though every flower, every tree, was a reflection of the traveller’s own heart and mind. This was their garden—created by them, for them.
As they wandered through the garden, they noticed a figure waiting beneath a great oak tree. This figure wasn’t a stranger. It was a part of themselves—the part that had always known the way, even when the forest felt at its darkest.
The figure smiled and gestured for the traveller to sit. “You’ve carried so much,” it said gently. “But now, you’re here. This is your space, where the answers you seek will come to you.”
The traveller closed their eyes, breathing deeply, feeling the truth of those words. And as they sat in the garden, they allowed their mind to bring forward a challenge they had been carrying—a situation or person that had felt heavy, like the whispers in the forest.
But here, in the garden, things felt different. The challenge no longer seemed insurmountable. A new perspective emerged, as though the garden itself was offering its wisdom. The traveller realised they already held the strength to face this challenge, the clarity to see what needed to be done, and the courage to act.
The figure nodded, as if understanding. “The answers were always within you,” it said. “You just needed the space to find them.”
The traveller stood, feeling lighter than they had in years. They looked around the garden, knowing they could return here whenever they needed—whenever the forest felt too heavy, or the path too unclear.
When they opened their eyes, they were back in the forest. But this time, the light from the garden stayed with them, a gentle glow within their heart, guiding each step forward.
And so, the traveller continued their journey, no longer burdened by the shadows of the forest, but empowered by the light they carried within.
